Job Summary:
This position provides strategic leadership, academic oversight, and instructional excellence for MCUTS’ leadership academic programs. This role integrates administrative oversight with faculty teaching and mentoring responsibilities, advancing the institution’s Christ-centered mission to equip servant-leaders for faithful service and transformational impact in church, community, and the marketplace. The Program Director ensures academic excellence, curricular coherence, and spiritual formation in alignment with the institution’s mission, accreditation standards, and best practices in leadership education.
Job Responsibilities:
Provide vision, direction, and oversight for leadership degree and certificate programs.
Lead program development, review, assessment, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Ensure alignment of leadership programs with institutional mission, biblical values, and strategic goals.
Advise and mentor students enrolled in the leadership programs academically, professionally, and spiritually.
Oversee curriculum design, course scheduling, and faculty assignments in collaboration with academic leadership.
Participate in the recruiting, hiring, training, and evaluation of program instructors.
Fulfill the teaching load assigned by the Dean that includes undergraduate courses in Christian leadership, cross-cultural missions, ethics, organizational leadership, or related fields.
Integrate Christian worldview and faith-based perspectives into teaching, scholarship, and mentoring.
Foster interdisciplinary collaboration across academic departments within MCUTS and the University.
Manage program budgets, resources, and operational needs.
Support student recruitment, retention, and success initiatives.
Engage in grant research and writing appropriate to the program.
Coordinate with the Dean for the College to engage fund-raising specific to the program.
Serve on various College and University committees.
Foster partnerships with churches, nonprofits, and community organizations to enhance relevant and experiential learning for students.
Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
Graduation from an accredited college or university with master’s degree in a related field and teaching experience is required. This position will require a person that can work as a part of a team and develop cooperative working relationships, as well as maintain confidentiality of student records.
Preferred Qualifications
Preference will be given to candidates with an earned doctoral or terminal degree and work experience in the field of the program.
Christian Requirement
Successful candidates must be professing Christians who are active members of a local church, enthusiastically support Union University’s Identity, Mission, Core Values, and Statement of Faith, and articulate a Christian worldview in their work and life.
Physical Requirements
The work performed by this position is of a general office/administrative nature. It requires the ability to operate a computer, and communicate on the telephone and in writing. Work performed does require some walking on campus, extended periods of time sitting, standing to teach or make presentations, computer work, and some daily instances of bending, stooping, and carrying items up to 25 pounds.
