Job Summary:
A full-time faculty position in the Music Department is available beginning January 2026.

COMPENSATION
Salary and rank will be determined by credentials and experience applied to an established faculty salary scale and accompanying benefits.

Job Responsibilities:
• Teach primary courses in the areas of: Applied Piano, Class Piano, Music History, and Aural Skills.
• Other teaching responsibilities may include courses in Music Theory and Music Technology, based upon the candidate’s strengths and departmental needs.
• Accompany solo and ensemble performance based upon departmental needs.
• Advise current students and actively recruit majors and non-majors for the music department.
• Establish and maintain relationships with area, community, and professional music organizations.
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with Kansas high school music directors.
• Participate in departmental activities, as appropriate.

Job Requirements:
All SC employees are expected to integrate a strong Christian faith into every aspect of life and learning. Specific requirements for this position include:
• Doctoral degree preferred; master’s degree required.
• Required background in piano accompaniment.
• Familiarity with a wide variety of musical styles and idioms.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• An understanding of undergraduate college students and an ability to relate well to them.
• A demonstrated growth in cultural competence and experience establishing healthy relationships and positive communication with students from diverse backgrounds.
• An understanding of an interdisciplinary approach to the liberal arts and an ability to work with faculty from varied disciplines.
• A willingness to serve on faculty committees when appropriate.
