Job Summary:

The Stoltz School of Business Visiting Instructor of Business is responsible to teach a range of business courses at the undergraduate level (and potentially graduate level), contribute to curriculum development and advise students in alignment with the mission of the University of Northwestern – St. Paul. Additional responsibilities include supporting recruitment and retention efforts, utilizing technology effectively in instruction, and engaging in professional development to maintain expertise in current entrepreneurial practices and pedagogy. The role will also support the cultivation of an entrepreneurial mindset across the Stoltz School of Business and the wider university community.

Job Responsibilities:
Teaching & Instruction: Teach undergraduate and graduate business courses across face-to-face, hybrid, and online formats in key areas of need and based on expertise. Courses may include such areas as supply chain, operations, entrepreneurship, ethics, global business, HR, small business management, new venture development, innovation, and design thinking.
Curriculum Development: Contribute to curriculum design, course development, program assessment, and alignment of business and entrepreneurship offerings across academic programs.Student Success & Mentorship: Support student success through mentorship, networking, and experiential learning such as pitch competitions, accelerators/incubators, and venture consulting.
Recruitment & Retention: Support strategies for student recruitment, retention, and alumni engagement within business programs.
Technology Integration: Use educational technologies to enhance teaching effectiveness and communication.
Professional Development: Stay current with business trends and higher education teaching practices through continued training and education. Build strong partnerships with local entrepreneurs, start-ups, nonprofits, and community organizations to enhance applied learning opportunities
Institutional Service: Participate in school and university committees and other service opportunities as needed. Attend required meetings and special events as assigned.
Perform other duties as requested or assigned.

Job Requirements:

Master's degree in Business, Entrepreneurship, Organizational Leadership, or a closely related field
Minimum of three (3) years of professional business experience
Desire to pursue scholarship that integrates entrepreneurship and Christian faith
Maintain a growing, personal relationship with Jesus Christ, reflect His character in all interactions, and faithfully uphold and embrace Northwestern's mission, Doctrinal Statement and Declaration of Christian Community

Nice To Have:
Doctoral degree (PhD, DBA) in a business or entrepreneurial discipline.
Prior college-level teaching experience.
