Job Summary:
The Hans A. Nielsen College of Business at Charleston Southern University invites applications for a sport management faculty position beginning August 1, 2026. Qualified candidates should be professing Christians committed to excellence in leading, learning, and serving. They should support the goals of a strong liberal arts education and be willing to explore with students the integration of faith and learning.
Job Responsibilities:
The sport management faculty member is expected to 1) recruit and retain sport management students, 2) build a relational network of hosts for student internships, and 3) advance the sport management program to be recognized as a leader in the region. The teaching load will include teaching undergraduate courses in a traditional, on-campus classroom format. The successful candidate will be committed to “Integrating through Christ, Community and Commerce” in teaching and scholarly activities, and advancing the Christian mission of the University.
Job Requirements:
An earned doctorate (DBA, DSL, PhD) in the field of sport management from a regionally accredited and business-accredited (COSMA, AACSB, ACBSP or IACBE) institution is preferred. Candidates pursuing their terminal degree will also be considered. The search committee prefers practical sport management experience, teaching experience, and research capability in the areas of sport management. Teaching responsibilities may include sport management and general business courses. Preference will be given to qualified candidates who have teaching experience with demonstrated effectiveness in undergraduate instruction. A significant record of research and publication with the ability to lead the Nielsen College of Business’s research efforts in sport management is also important.
