Job Summary:

Williams Baptist University invites applications for a full-time faculty position in the Department of Psychology and Child & Family Studies, beginning Fall 2026. The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching, student mentorship, and Christian higher education. This position includes instruction and support in key areas of the psychology program, with a focus on counseling, family systems, and an integration of Christian worldview and psychological theory depending on the candidate’s background.

Job Responsibilities:
-Teach undergraduate courses in Psychology and Child & Family Studies, including (but not limited to): Counseling; Family Systems; Theories of Learning; Social Psychology; General Psychology; History and Systems of Psychology.
-Advise and mentor students regarding academic and vocational goals.
-Serve on university and departmental committees.
-Provide guidance and mentorship to students preparing for graduate school or the workforce.
-Contribute to program development and assessment, student recruitment, and university service.
-Maintain an active program of professional development and scholarly engagement.

Job Requirements:
-Prefer candidates with a Doctoral degree in Psychology, Counseling, Family Studies, or a closely related field (ABD may be considered).
-Candidates must have evidence of training and practice in integrating a Christian worldview and psychological/counseling theory.
-Candidates should demonstrate excellence or strong potential in undergraduate teaching.
-Candidates with a passion for advising and guiding students in research, service, and vocational preparation.
-Candidates should have an ability to work effectively as part of a small, student-focused department and university community.

-Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
-Ability to counsel, advise, and mentor college students effectively.

-Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with faculty, administration, students, and external partners.
-Teaching skills, particularly in person and online.
-Knowledge of effective recruitment and retention practices in higher education settings.
-A commitment to professional growth and to the mission and values of WBU.
