Job Summary:
Missouri Baptist University is seeking to hire a full-time Instructor or Assistant Professor in Marketing, Management, or Business Administration to serve in the School of Management and Marketing. (Rank and title will be commensurate with academic credentials and professional experience.) This is a 9-month faculty appointment beginning August 2026, with responsibilities that include teaching undergraduate courses in a traditional, in-person format. This is a generalist role with assigned courses in the marketing and management disciplines. This position reports to the Associate Dean of the School of Management and Marketing in the Robert W. Plaster College of Business and Entrepreneurship.
Faculty are expected to prepare and deliver instruction grounded in a Biblical worldview that advances student learning outcomes, cultivates intellectual curiosity, and connects academic content to career application. The successful candidate will actively mentor students, contribute to program development and curriculum, and build meaningful partnerships with the business community.
Job Responsibilities:
Prepare and deliver high-quality instruction in assigned courses with intentional faith integration
Assess student work in accordance with University policy and outcome and rubric alignment
Serve in a program leadership role (e.g., Program Chair), including curriculum oversight and program development as needed
Maintain professional engagement and scholarly activity appropriate to rank
Provide service to the institution, college, and discipline
Mentor students in academic, internship, and career pathways
Develop and sustain partnerships with the regional business community

Essential Responsibilites

Minimum Education and Experience
Terminal degree (Ph.D., DBA, or related) in Marketing, Management, Business Administration, or a closely related field is required for appointment at the Assistant Professor rank (AACSB or ACBSP required)
In select cases, a master’s degree in a related field may be considered for appointment at the Instructor level, contingent upon demonstrated subject matter expertise, significant relevant professional experience, and prior teaching effectiveness
Candidates with a master’s degree should have completed doctoral coursework, be actively pursuing a terminal degree, or demonstrate clear willingness and capacity to do so
Evidence of progressive professional experience with increasing levels of managerial responsibility
Prior teaching experience at the collegiate level or demonstrated instructional effectiveness
Ability to integrate faith and learning, and to articulate how one’s Christian faith informs their discipline, vocation, and teaching
Preferred Education and Experience
Current doctoral candidates (ABD) are encouraged to apply
Industry experience in healthcare or sports business sectors a plus
Two or more years of higher education teaching experience
Three or more years of upper-level managerial or leadership experience
Industry-relevant certifications a plus
Experience with Canvas Learning Management System or comparable LMS platforms highly desired
