Job Summary:

The faculty member is directly responsible and accountable for ensuring the school's educational goals and objectives. These responsibilities require leadership in academic and workforce areas, including meeting student retention goals, participating in educational planning, evaluating student performance, motivating and advising students, and generating program reports as needed. In addition to these duties, as the Criminal Justice Program Director, this role will be responsible for the undergraduate and graduate Criminal Justice faculty and program management.

Job Responsibilities:

Teach courses as assigned, determined by needs and/or expertise.

Assist in curriculum development and instructional advancement in the related fields of Social & Behavioral Science.

Assess the instructional needs of students int he program and help coordinate developing a plan to address these needs.

Cultivate strategic relationships with community practitioners related to Social & Behavioral Science.

As applicable, participate in School/University committees, planning sessions, and accreditation site visits.

Participate in scholarship to teaching, application, and the integration and discovery of knowledge through research and/or professional practice.

As program director: manage all part-time and full-time program faculty, assign courses, and conduct the annual evaluation of full-time faculty; recommend courses or curriculum development change and ensure that the program and courses are up to date and aligned with technology and Quality Matters principles; ensure that syllabi are updated before courses are published; assist the Associate Dean with program reports, including but not limited to sending and analyzing faculty end-of-course, program, and/or university surveys; providing input and assisting with the annual Strategic Planning process and the annual program review and outcomes assessment.

Job Requirements:

Instructor/Special Lecturer: Master's degree in field of study or a closely related field.

Assistant Professor: Master's degree in field of study or a closely related field and enrolled in a doctoral program upon hire or doctoral degree in field of study

Associate Professor: Doctoral degree in field of study or a closely related field with at least 4 years as a full-time assistant professor.

Professor: Doctoral degree in field of study or a closely related field with at least 10 years as a full-time faculty member, and five years as an associate professor; evidence of superior accomplishments in faith integration, teaching, and service to the profession/scholarly activity.
