Job Summary:
This position is responsible for teaching a variety of courses, fulfilling departmental and university-wide faculty responsibilities, and maintaining an appropriate level of scholarship.

Job Responsibilities:
Teach a full-time load of undergraduate and graduate courses. Instructional responsibilities include: designing curriculum; the development of activities and assignments which support lesson objectives; the development of critical thinking skills; instruction delivery using both traditional and online methods; and integration of faith-based principles in courses.
Maintain appropriate scholarship level and produce published research in peer-reviewed publications for scholarly academic status. Maintain licensure, certification, or continuing education requirements where appropriate. Remain current in academic discipline, participating in professional organizations, conferences, and activities.
Plan clear course outcomes. Guide progress and access records related to students’ achievement of course, program, and career outcomes. Advise students in their academic and career paths.
Maintain regular on-campus office hours as posted for student accessibility outside the classroom, providing ample periods of time for mentoring students in matters related to academic success, life goals, and spiritual development.
Submit grades and requests by established deadlines, including budget requests, textbook information, and student academic progress.
Assign grades and maintain student records in accordance with FERPA regulations.
Serve on university committees as assigned and on McAfee School of Business standing or ad-hoc committees and advisory boards as designated by the dean. Participate in university-wide and departmental meetings and forums.
Participate in activities sponsored by the University for collegiality and spiritual enrichment including convocation, commencement, and regular Chapel attendance.
Contribute to a positive work climate and apply Christian standards in interpersonal relationships with university personnel and students.
Job Requirements:
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a PhD or DBA in management, or related field. Those with a relevant master’s degree and relevant industry experience may also be considered. Demonstrated evidence of quality and experiential teaching. Evidence of ability to produce high quality scholarship, primarily in terms of quality peer-reviewed journal articles and a robust research agenda or significant professional engagement activities.

Successful candidates must be professing Christians who are active members of a local church, enthusiastically support Union University’s Identity, Mission, Core Values, and Statement of Faith, and articulate a Christian worldview in their work and life.
Physical Requirements:
The work performed by this position is of a general office and classroom nature. While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to perform the following:
Speaking and hearing ability to sufficiently communicate in person or over the telephone.
Walk from office to the classroom and from one campus office to another office/building on campus.
Spend extended periods of time sitting and standing with occasional instances of bending and stooping. Classroom and laboratory settings require periods of standing and sitting for the duration of class (1 to 3 hours).
Ability to lift and carry files and materials, handle various types of media and equipment, occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, unless otherwise specified.
Have adequate vision, hearing, and manual dexterity to read words and numbers and interact with people in person, on the phone, through a computer, and in writing. Requires the ability to identify, observe, and assess visual color discrimination and depth perception.
Ability to reach with hands and arms; use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls (e.g. mouse, keyboard, telephone, lab equipment). Sufficient hand, arm, and finger dexterity to operate a computer keyboard and other office equipment.
