Job Summary:
The Humanities Department at Toccoa Falls College invites applications for a full-time faculty position starting August 1, 2026. Rank and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The department seeks a dynamic and innovative individual to join our Humanities faculty in the instruction, oversight, and development of English literature and writing courses.
Job Responsibilities:
TASKS:
The position will include a combination of writing, including Freshman Composition, and literature courses. Based on background of the applicant, the courses load will be chosen from the fields of creative writing, poetry, World, English and American literature. In addition to classroom responsibilities, the faculty member will serve as an academic advisor and serve on academic committees.
SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES:
Applicants must have a strong background in English composition and literature. Candidates should demonstrate experience in higher education, skills in curriculum design, a commitment to teaching excellence, ability to respond to the different needs of students, excellent interpersonal and group communication skills, and scholarly potential. Evidence of a vibrant Christian faith and a sincere commitment to the mission of Toccoa Falls College are essential.
Job Requirements:
A PhD or other terminal degree in an appropriate field is preferred, but highly qualified candidates with a master’s degree will be considered. Prior undergraduate teaching experience is highly desirable.
