Job Summary:
This is a full-time position that provides overall academic and administrative leadership for the Doctor of Ministry (DMin) program. This involves pursuing and maintaining accreditation with the Association of Theological Schools, while developing and coordinating the curriculum and faculty.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED:
This position reports to the Associate Dean of the Graduate School of Ministry, the Dean of the School of Theology and Ministry, and the Vice President of Academic Affairs.
SUPERVISORY FUNCTIONS:
Faculty contracted to teach courses in the Doctor of Ministry program.
EQUIPMENT/JOB LOCATION:
Works from an office at Crown College. Equipment used includes, but is not limited to, personal computer and required programs, printer, fax machine, calculator, copy machines, and other equipment as the position requires.
Job Responsibilities:
1. Academic and Program Leadership
a. Develop appropriate program and student learning outcomes to guide the DMin program with anticipated launch date of fall 2027.
b. Oversee DMin program design, including online and residential courses, curriculum development, and course scheduling to ensure mission alignment, achievement of student learning outcomes, and academic excellence.
c. Evaluate curriculum and initiate revisions and updates as necessary to maintain the
relevance, consistency, and high educational quality of the assigned programs.
d. Lead program reviews and revisions in consultation with faculty, administration, and accrediting agencies (e.g., ATS).
e. Ensure integration of theological reflection and ministry practices in program outcomes.
f. Stay informed of emerging trends in ministry and theological education to keep the program relevant.
2. Faculty Coordination and Supervision
a. Recommend to the Associate Dean and/or Academic Dean the hiring and retention of
full- and part-time faculty for the respective academic program(s).
b. Train and support DMin faculty, mentors, and project supervisors.
c. Assign respective course instructors in consultation with the Associate Dean.
d. Ensure consistent faculty academic quality across the program.
e. Conduct faculty reviews to maintain academic integrity and excellence.
3. Student Recruitment, Advising, and Support
a. Collaborate with the Enrollment and Marketing team to recruit qualified students.
b. Advise and mentor DMin students throughout their program, particularly in project design and implementation.
c. Collaborate with the respective Academic Dean and the Director of Online Operations to
develop a sense of community within the assigned programs.
d. Oversee student assessment, progress tracking, and retention initiatives.
e. Address student questions and concerns within the assigned programs.
f. Participate in orientation, residency sessions, and graduation ceremonies as necessary.
4. Administration and Accreditation
a. Manage the program’s budget and resources, including Pathways for Tomorrow Lilly Grant funding.
b. Ensure that all courses and course details are accurately published.
c. Ensure compliance with institutional, denominational, and accreditation standards.
d. Prepare annual reports, assessment data, and accreditation documents.
5. Institutional and External Engagement
a. Represent the DMin program in faculty meetings, academic committees, and institutional planning.
b. Foster relationships with alumni, churches, and ministry partners for ongoing program improvement.
c. Promote the DMin program through conferences, networks, and professional associations.
d. Collaborate with the Advancement Office for fundraising and partnership opportunities.
6. Teaching and Scholarship
a. Teach two courses a semester in the DMin program and in the School of Theology and Ministry as needed.
b. Maintain scholarly activity related to ministry practices, leadership or theological reflection.
c. Serve as a mentor or reader for DMin projects.
Job Requirements:
· Demonstrated experience and expertise of adult and professional education principles, especially related to graduate and post-graduate learning.
· Online education experience.
· Broad understanding of practical theology, pastoral leadership, and ministry contexts.
· Strong interpersonal skills and positive attitude toward graduate level theological education.
· Established ability to work effectively as a team member.
· Demonstrate excellence in spoken, written and electronic communication skills.
· Ability to integrate personal Christian faith in daily life, work, leadership, and teaching.
· Hands-on experience in the ministry field through previous work and/or consulting experience and external ministry relationships preferred.
· Ability and willingness to stay abreast of the ever-changing ministry environment in order to maintain relevance in teaching ministry courses to students.
· Skill to organize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
· Agreement and personal alignment with the Crown College Statement of Faith and Community Covenant.

Stamina to stand for extended periods of time in classroom
Hand and arm (or equivalent) dexterity adequate to allow for safe use of equipment and extensive use of a keyboard for data entry

Vision adequate for frequent viewing of computer screens and safe use and supervision of equipment and materials
Body strength to frequently lift and/or move up to twenty-five (25) pounds
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
· Doctoral-level theological training (normally a DMin, PhD, or equivalent terminal degree in theology, ministry, or a related field).
· Hold a Christian and Missionary Alliance license or be licensed shortly after employment.
· Demonstrate teaching effectiveness, particularly with online education.
· Professional ministry experience.
· Experience using computer technology in the teaching/learning process.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (in addition to the above minimum qualifications):
· 5+ years of full-time teaching experience, especially in Christian higher education
· Familiarity with seminary-level accreditation standards.
· Prior experience in seminary administration or academic leadership.
· Experience with learning management systems (LMS), with understanding of online and hybrid education models.
· Experience with academic advising/mentoring graduate level students.
