Job Summary:
The mission of the Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology (MS-SLP) program at Oklahoma
Baptist University (OBU) is to prepare competent and professional service-minded leaders in speech language pathology (SLP) who apply Christian principles and values to communication and swallowing
disorder prevention, assessment, and intervention across the lifespan. The OBU MS-SLP program invites
applications for a 12-month, full-time faculty appointment. This role involves teaching, advising, service,
and scholarship. Faculty rank and salary will be determined based on the qualifications and experience
of the successful candidate. The ideal candidate demonstrates teaching excellence, mentoring skills, a
growth mindset, and a collaborative attitude. This position is eligible for remote work. Remote
employees will be required to travel to the OBU campus in Shawnee, OK as determined by the
Program Director and Dean.

Job Responsibilities:
• Course Development and Teaching:
o Develop and teach undergraduate prerequisite courses during the first year.
o Develop and teach graduate courses starting in the second year and beyond.
• Research:
o Conduct and disseminate scholarly research.
o Seek and secure external funding for scholarly research.
• Service:
o Participate in institutional and professional service opportunities.
o Advise graduate and undergraduate students.
• Professional Development:
o Engage in professional development opportunities.

Job Requirements:
1. Preferred: terminal academic doctorate (PhD or EdD) from a regionally accredited institution.
Candidates actively pursuing a terminal degree will also be considered.
2. Experience in higher education, specifically developing and teaching asynchronous and/or
synchronous online graduate or undergraduate courses.
3. Evidence of innovation, organization, leadership, and excellence in hybrid or online instruction
at the university level.
4. Demonstrated ability to communicate and collaborate professionally and collegially with
colleagues within the program and across the institution.
5. Strong interpersonal skills for mentoring and advising undergraduate and graduate students.
6. Licensed, or eligible for licensure, as a Speech-Language Pathologist in Oklahoma.
7. Current ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP)
8. Active in professional activities at local, state, and/or national levels.
Special Requirements:
• Must be an active member of an evangelical* church in one's community of residence, willing to
teach in accordance with the Baptist Faith & Message 2000, and in agreement with the
university's policy on human sexuality (provided by HR upon request). *Evangelical is a broad
term referring to a segment within Christianity which maintains the authority of the Bible and
the belief in salvation by faith in Jesus alone.
