Online Registration Opens for Sixth Annual IACE Conference
FORT WORTH, TEXAS -- Registration now is available online for the International Alliance for Christian Education’s sixth annual conference, to be held February 5-7, 2025 at the Riley Conference Center on the campus of Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth.
The registration cost of $400 includes attendance at all sessions and meals.
Room accommodations are available at Hyatt Place Fort Worth/TCU.
“We look forward with genuine excitement and anticipation to the sixth annual conference in February,” IACE President David S. Dockery said. “The program, combined with opportunities for enriching time together with colleagues from institutions and organizations across the country and around the globe will, we pray, be used of God to deepen our commitments to distinctive Christ-centered education.”
A tentative schedule for the conference reveals a stellar list of presenters. What follows is a listing of those who have agreed to contribute to the annual conference program.
Robert Smith is the Charles T. Carter Professor of Preaching emeritus at Beeson Divinity School, Samford University. He will present “The Heart of Christian Education.”
Don Sweeting is Chancellor at Colorado Christian University. He will present “The Abolition of Education and the Opportunity of the Moment.”
Tim Tennent. the past president and Distinguished Professor of World Christianity at Asbury Theological Seminary, will focus on Global Christian Education.
Scott Rae returns to IACE to explore “Mission Faithfulness and Christian Higher Education.” He is Senior Advisor to the President, Dean of the Faculty, and Professor of Philosophy and Christian Ethics, at Biola University/Talbot Seminary.
Nancy Pearcy is the Elizabeth and John Gibson Professor of Apologetics and Scholar-in-Residence at Houston Christian University. Her presentation will focus on “Christian Worldview, Life, and Human Sexuality.”
Ryan Burge serves as Associate Professor of Political Science at Eastern Illinois University. His presentation is titled “Cultural and Demographic Trends Affecting Christian Education.”
Bill Stanczykiewicz, Dean for External Relations and Director of The Fund Raising School, The Lilly Family School of Philanthropy, Indiana University, will look at- Christian Philanthropy
Michael Arena, Dean of the Crowell School of Business, Biola University, will examine “The Challenges and Opportunities of Artificial Intelligence for Christian Higher Education.”
A team from TG Three (Rob Westervelt, Nick Willis, and Ryan Daugherty) will consider “Needs Assessment and Strategic Planning for Christian Higher Education.”
Greg Baylor the Senior Counsel at the Alliance Defending Freedom, will bring a legal update for leaders in Christian education.
Three workshops are in the works for Wednesday afternoon (February 5):
“The Work of Advancement,” led by Pat McLaughlin of The Timothy Group
“The Work of Enrollment,” with Mark Hughes of Clark Higher Ed and others
“The Competitive Strength of Christian Universities,“ from John Larrivee, Associate Professor of Economics, Mount St. Mary's University.
“The outstanding lineup of speakers will provide what I know will be wise, insightful, thoughtful, and challenging presentations for each one of us.,” Dockery said.
