Job Summary:
The Assistant Professor of Biology will be responsible for teaching 24 semester hours per academic year, including both lecture and laboratory components. The faculty member is expected to adhere to university instructional policies, actively participate in departmental and university events, serve on academic committees, and may assist with the management of the university's Greenhouse and Herbarium Museum. Preference will be given to candidates with teaching experience in wildlife biology and introductory biology courses for both majors and non-majors.
Job Responsibilities:
Teach assigned undergraduate biology courses (lecture and lab) across the academic year.
Develop course materials, assess student performance, and provide timely feedback.
Participate in curriculum development and assessment activities.
Attend department meetings, university events, and professional development sessions.
Serve on university and departmental committees as assigned.
Potentially assist in overseeing the Greenhouse and Herbarium Museum.
Perform other duties as assigned in support of the department’s mission.
Job Requirements:
Education: Ph.D. in Biology or a closely related field.
Experience: Demonstrated experience teaching undergraduate courses in biology or a related discipline is preferred.
