Job Summary:
The Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology (MS-SLP) program at Oklahoma Baptist University
(OBU) prepares competent and professional service-minded leaders in speech-language pathology who
integrate Christian principles and values into the prevention, assessment, and treatment of
communication and swallowing disorders across the lifespan. The OBU MS-SLP program invites
applications for adjunct faculty to teach academic courses.
Adjunct faculty play a vital role in supporting the mission of the program by providing high-quality
instruction, engaging students in meaningful learning, and modeling the integration of the Christian faith
with the profession of speech-language pathology. The ideal candidate demonstrates teaching
excellence, innovation, flexibility, professionalism, and a collaborative attitude. Adjunct positions for
academic courses are eligible for remote work. Travel to the OBU campus is not required.
Job Responsibilities:
Teach assigned academic courses in the MS-SLP program (course assignments may vary by
semester).
Prepare and deliver engaging course content aligned with program and accreditation standards.
Provide timely, constructive feedback and support to students.
Collaborate with faculty and staff to ensure a positive student experience.
Participate in professional development opportunities and/or faculty meetings/trainings as
appropriate.
Job Requirements:
1. Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology and current ASHA CCC-SLP required; doctorate
(PhD or EdD) preferred. Strong candidates with a clinical doctorate (SLPD, ClinSciD) will also be
considered.
2. Experience in higher education, specifically developing and teaching asynchronous and/or
synchronous online graduate or undergraduate courses.
3. Demonstrated ability to teach effectively, engage students, and integrate faith and learning.
4. Strong organizational, teaching, and communication skills.
5. Must be an active member of an evangelical* church in one's community of residence, willing to
teach in accordance with the Baptist Faith & Message 2000, and in agreement with the
university's policy on human sexuality (provided by HR upon request). *Evangelical is a broad
term referring to a segment within Christianity which maintains the authority of the Bible and
the belief in salvation by faith in Jesus alone.
