Job Summary:
The Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology (MS-SLP) program at Oklahoma Baptist University (OBU) prepares competent and professional service-minded leaders in speech-language pathology who integrate Christian principles and values into the prevention, assessment, and treatment of communication and swallowing disorders across the lifespan. The OBU MS-SLP program invites applications for adjunct faculty to teach clinical courses and provide clinical mentoring to students during external clinical placements.

Adjunct clinical faculty are essential to the success of our students, providing high-quality instruction in clinical coursework and mentoring and guidance during clinical placements. The ideal candidate demonstrates excellence in clinical teaching and supervision, strong interpersonal skills, and a commitment to mentoring students in both professional skills and faith integration. Adjunct positions for on-campus residency courses are NOT eligible for remote work. Travel to the OBU campus is required and the candidate must live within driving distance.

Job Responsibilities:
• Provide clinical education and evaluate clinical competencies during on-campus residency experiences.
• Evaluate clinical course assignments and provide constructive feedback.
• Ensure compliance with ASHA standards for clinical education and supervision.
• Collaborate with program faculty and staff to support student success during on-campus residencies.
• Model professionalism, ethical practice, and the integration of Christian faith principles and values in clinical practice.
• Participate in professional development opportunities and/or faculty meetings/trainings as appropriate.

Job Requirements:
1. Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology and current ASHA CCC-SLP required; doctorate (PhD or EdD) preferred. Strong candidates with a clinical doctorate (SLPD, ClinSciD) will also be considered.
2. Minimum of 2 years post-certification clinical experience required.
3. Experience supervising graduate student clinicians in university or professional settings preferred.
4. Experience with clinical simulations preferred.
5. Strong organizational, mentoring, and communication skills.
6. Must be an active member of an evangelical* church in one's community of residence, willing to teach in accordance with the Baptist Faith & Message 2000, and in agreement with the university's policy on human sexuality (provided by HR upon request). *Evangelical is a broad term referring to a segment within Christianity which maintains the authority of the Bible and the belief in salvation by faith in Jesus alone.
