Job Summary:

Charleston Southern University invites applications for an Assistant Professor of Aeronautics beginning June 1, 2024. Job Responsibilities:

The successful candidate for this position will: teach 27 credit hours per year (lecture and lab); work closely with the Department Chair and Dean to develop and administer aerospace-related curriculum to students in the Aeronautics degree programs; assist with the administration of the flight laboratories, and coordinate administration of ground and flight instruction with the flight training contractor; ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory guidelines and university policies; provide recommendations and implementations to the Department Chair for the enhancement of curriculum, the flight operations facilities, equipment, employee training and laboratory safety practices; and ensure compliance with university, accreditor and FAA requirements, regulations and procedures.

Job Requirements:

Certified collegiate aviation curriculum. Experience relevant to space operations, aviation maintenance or advanced aviation mobility (AAM) platforms. Familiarity with foreign certification activities. FAA Advanced and Instrument Ground Certificates (AGI and IGI). FAA Multi-Engine Instructor and Airline Transport Pilot certifications.
